This is a THEORY & PRACTICAL MASTERCLASS at the Extract Black Coffee Roastery at Coromandel East, South Australia.
Whether you are a budding barista, mad home brewer, wanting the best of coffee while travelling or just wish to upskill on how to extract coffee correctly and make the perfect cuppa at home or in the office, THIS IS THE MASTERCLASS.

Mentored by roaster and experienced barista/business owner, Adrianne Skye.

Upon payment we will receive your details via PayPal in which we will send the facebook link for the the theory (approx 3hr component)  to complete the online 'FUNDAMENTALS'. 
Upon completion of theory we will then book you (and your friends if doing as a team/group) into the practical component which is 2x 2hr sessions at our roaster Coromandel East.

Please note Max 4 participants per practical.

The theory can be completed in stages however from payment of this masterclass and completion of the 'Core Basics' must be within 6months from date of purchase.
Unused Masterclasses WILL NOT be refunded. NO REFUNDS.

This is a CORE SKILLS masterclass, the foundation of a barista.

  • INCLUSIONS: 6months inside our private FB group 'FUNDAMENTALS' for theory (calculated from date of purchase).
  • JOURNEYS to guide learning (inside 'FUNDAMENTALS' group).
  • Questions 24/7 inside 'FUNDAMENTALS' group - answered periodically BY ADRIANNE and/or DAVID to get you on your way to creating/drinking the good oil anywhere in the world!!!
  • PRACTICAL: 2x2hr practicals (or as negotiated if you are travelling long distance to attend can be a 4hr block).
  • PRACTICAL can be booked at many weird and wonderful hours since we are located on our own urban farm in Adelaide hills, a short 20mins drive from CBD. Practicals are run by owners and experienced master roasters/baristas, Adrianne and David inside their own roastery on their urban farm with a view! Practicals are booked after theory is completed.

PRACTICAL (4hrs @ Roastery): 
  • Elements and differences between origins, '2 Rule' tasting the difference, extraction times, grinders and particle size importance.
  • How to clean coffee equipment especially an espresso machine: backwash, chemicals when using organic coffee, colour coded clothes, steam want hygiene.
  • How to extract the PERFECT 'Espresso' and 'Doppio'.
  • Extracting coffee on commercial espresso machine, learning to change the grind between 3 different orgins.
  • Introduction to texturing milk, types of milks and CORE cafe menu: espresso, doppio, latte, cappuccino, flat white, long black, macchiato, hot chocolate, mocha, tea.
  • INCLUDES all coffee and all milk required above.
